HAMILTON SFORTS.----(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. The Hamilton Amateur AtEletlc and Cycling Club held their Initial meetingat Steele Park to-day. The "weather was unfavourable, but there was a fairly good attendance. Some disappointment was felt at the absence of the Auckland runners, Hill and Whitney. The following are the results:-— 100 yds Public Schoolboys' Race..—Richard Hlnton, 1; G. Bateman, 2; Ross Hlnton, 3. A run-o£E took place for a dead heat between the first two. "*•" One-mile Bicycle Race. — J. Mason, 140 yds 1; J. Petersen, 180 yds, 2; W. R. Mason, 150 yds, 3. Time, 2.25 2-5. 100 yds Maiden Race.—B. G. Mann, 3yds, 1; Jas. Reid, 3yds, 2; B. H. Whitten, lyd, 3. Time, lljs. This wae a good race, and the second and third places were only decided after a run-off for a dead heat. 100 yds Handicap.—R. H. Waymouth, 7yds, 1; J. D. Stewart, Byds, 2; G. N. Reid, Byds, 3. Time, 10 l-ss. Two-mile Bicycle Race.—W. A. Mason, 250 yds, 1; J. Beterson, 295nJs, 2; J. Mason, 225 yds, 3. Time, 5.0. One-mile Walk. —3". W. E. Time, 14.2-SS. The trophies were presented at a social in the eveninß.
