Golden Cross.—Ore has been broken ont the width of the drive on the Golden Cross reef, with the west wall exposed. The quartz Is brown, and carries a large percentage of manganese. Later on a crosscut will be put in to ascertain the full width of the lode. The drive on the Fiery Cross reef, north section, is on the east ,glde of the old drive. In a mixture of country rock and quartz. The quartz gives a fair dish prospect, and is being saved for treatment In the second stope soutn, the payable portion of the reef narrowed into about lft In width. This stope will be stopped, and work resumed on the north side of the rise. Waitangi Consolidated.—Driving was reBurned on Thursday after putting In points for doable lines. The tunnel is now In 1970 ft. It is still penetrating, firm andesite country. Taleyon.—A few feet of the reef have been stripped. The country is firmer and of a good class. Rising Sun.—Have driven a further 7 feet .during the week, making a total of 1604 feet The ground Is very hard for progress.
