Golden Cross.—Ore has been broken ont the width of the drive on the Golden Cross reef, with the west wall exposed. The quartz Is brown, and carries a large percentage of manganese. Later on a crosscut will be put in to ascertain the full width of the lode. The drive on the Fiery Cross reef, north section, is on the east ,glde of the old drive. In a mixture of country rock and quartz. The quartz gives a fair dish prospect, and is being saved for treatment In the second stope soutn, the payable portion of the reef narrowed into about lft In width. This stope will be stopped, and work resumed on the north side of the rise. Waitangi Consolidated.—Driving was reBurned on Thursday after putting In points for doable lines. The tunnel is now In 1970 ft. It is still penetrating, firm andesite country. Taleyon.—A few feet of the reef have been stripped. The country is firmer and of a good class. Rising Sun.—Have driven a further 7 feet .during the week, making a total of 1604 feet The ground Is very hard for progress. The teader in the face Is about 1 Inches In width. feendigo.—Everything in connection with the battery is now going satisfactorily. If there is no delay In getting the extra pulley and belt, the battery will be ready to start In eight or ten days from now. The mlue Is opened up sufficiently to keep the plant continuously crashing once operations are started. Seddon.—Since pi6tect3on expired, 32 feet have been driven in the low level. The mineralised reef should be to hand m five or etc weeks. A road is being made to get the quartz to the mill for treatment New Sylvia.—The low level is in 737 feet. The country continues too strong for more speedy progress. At the battery the filter frames are being overhauled and the braces made ready to put the frames together again. Excepting one pipe, all are con nected in the vacnmn filter room. Water aiwl air pipes have been connected •with the B and M tanis. Everything Is now ready for shafting and pulley. Next -week the manager proposes to furnish a complete list of what remains to be done and the probable time of the completion of the battery;. Tairua Monarch ConsoHclated, Ltd.—A leading stope has been taken along the No. 2 reef, which at this point is 3ft -wide and shows fair, dish prospects.. The battery tats nad a partial cleiri-up of 200 tons for a she weeks' run, the return being 105oz 14dwt smeltea gold. These figures are the bank weights. Telluridee Proprietary.—-In, the Gordon section, the low level crosscut is In 47 feet. This leaves °13 feet to be driven to reach Corbett's lode. The whole of the machinery Is working very satisfactorily. The level tn the Volunteer section 5s along 127 feet. Kiri Kiri Consolidated.—Tfie rise has t>een extended 9 feet during the week, the country belag a good deal easier for rising than it has been previously. The reef Is from 3 to 4 inches wide, ■with more soCd quartz than when last reported. Mountain King.—At the k>w level the contractors are maklffg eood headway ■wtth. t& main drive. About "210 ft pore should reich the Mountain King boundary in tho Waitaia No. 5 (main level). A start isas been made to rise in Hie Mountain King main level north end, under where the new chute of ore has been "worked upon recently, about 70ft overhead. When this ■rise is trp there will be a block of 70ft intact to operate npon in height and approximately frbim 40 to 60ft in length. The battery is kept employed tts of recent crushinfis.-..... New Waifaia.—A nJce reef nine Inches wide is showing in the si»pes above the intermediate level, and the ore appears <to be of fair quality.
