MOUNTAIN KING. The manager of the Mountain King mine, Kuaotunu, banked 40oz of bullion last week, the estimated value bein" about .£lO2. OLD HAURAKI. The manager telegraphed yesterday: "301bs of picked stone from No. 2 hlock, at the 300 ft level; gold show- *■*" _____ NEW WAITAIA. The manager telegraphed yesterday afternoon:—"Five pounds of picked stone from the winze." HANDSWORTH. Shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday the imanag|er Iwired:—"lGUbs rijf specimens from the Otama section of the Handsworth." MAY QtTEEX. SHARP RISE IN SHARES. The following telegram from the May Queen mine was posted on the Exchange about noon to-day:—"Started to break down the Exchange reef; good dabs of gold are being seen." Very free transactions took place in May Queen shares at the first call this morning, one buyer alone securing 5300 shares. At tho noon call the demand ■ still continued, about another 5000 shares changing hands. In addition, sev- ' eral thousand shares were sold on the floor between the calls. The price of May Queen shares advanced from 1/11 yesterday morning to 3/3 - at noon to-day. Later sales were at 3/ ' and 3/1, with further buyers at the j former figure. <
