Details of the shooting of Steward, of Singapore, show that Mrs. Proudfoot stated that she was alone in her bungalow when Steward, a friend of the family, called and made violent advances. She seized a revolver and fired five shots into his body at close quarters. Steward is described as a quiet man. Bail in a thousand dollars was allowed.
