CONSERVING THE SUPPLIES. LONDON, June 13. The Calcutta correspondent of the "Daily Mail" states that a monster petition is in circulation amongst Hindus for presentation at the Coronation Durbar praying the King to direct that all supplies of beef for the troops in India be obtained from Australia arid New Zealand, instead of from local sources. The Hindus state that they are willing to direct that a tax be levied upon them to cover the cost of cold storage. The correspondent adds that the adoption of this proposal would greatly benefit agriculture in India, mentioning "that the price of plough bullocks has been doubled in recent years.
