FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND.

(Received 9.30 ajn.). BRISBANE, this day. Ingham is surrounded,by flood water, and the residents of low-lying portions have been compelled to leave their homes. Police boats are out at Kuranda rescuing the people on the low-lying areas. The train from Cairns was stopped by the flood a few miles out, and the passengers returned to the town. Telegraphic communication ie interrupted and the full extent of the damage is unknown. Reports from Cairns state that the rivers and creeks are in high flood and rising, and the railway is inundated. There have been several washaways, and bridges are damaged. At Kuranda 42in have been recorded in 48 hours, the total rain in three months having been Bft sin. Much damage has been done to the cane crops.
