l The season oi 1911 in London is ex- - pected to be the brilliant ever • known in modern times. The.; outstand--1 ing event is, of course, the Coronation, C on June 22, wit* the Royal Procession 3 through the streets of London- on the - following day-i Both the Coronation and! s the Imperial Conference, which, opens on . May 22, will bring a host of social and i public functions in their train. The Count mourning will end on May i 7, and in May and June the King -will - hold .Courts at Buckingham Palace. In i July Hie Majesty will go to Dublin. He - will subsequently visit Scotland and hold - two Courts. The Investiture of the s Prince of Wales at Carnarvon Castle s -will be made by ithe Queen in the cum- - mer, and it ie possible that the King also will be present on this occasion. i "Exhibitions will be a conspicuous feature of the coming season. The Welch > Industries Exhibitions will open on May J 11 at Grosvenor House. Next day the ; Great Festival Of Empire begins ait the - Crystal Palace, and the King' and Quern 1 have declared their intension of being I present at the Imperial Concert which • marks the opening of tihe Festival on f May 12. The Coronation exhibition at tie ■ White City, Shepherd'e Bush, also opens • about the middle of May. The Inter- - national Aero Exhibition at Olympia on > March 10 promises an interesting display - of up-to-date flydng machines. There in ! to be a show of thorough-bred stallions • at the Royal Agricultural Hall on March - 7, and a Simple Life Exhibition opens at r the Caxton Hall on March 23, while the - Naval and Military Tournament of Qn- ■ pire will be held in London at Easter. ) Another Naval and Military Tournament opens at Olympia on May 18. Then there is the Horse Show, which bebegins at Olympia on June 14. It is more 1 than probable that the King and Queen ' will visit this show in State. Their Majesties tcHI also be present at tihe 1 Royal Agricultural Show at Norwich. ■ The International Rubber and Allied ' Trades Exhibition will be held at the Agricultural Hall from June 12 to 28, 1 and. on May 23 cornels the 'most import- ' ant of its kind in the London season— the Temple Flower Show. A floral fete ] at Tagg'e Island, near Hampton Court, and a Coronation Carnival, in which 80,000 children will take part at the Cry- | tal Palace, are new and interesting features of the season. The opera season begins at Covent Garden on April 22. The demand for • boxes this season is quite unprecedented, 1 and the King and Queen have already com- ' manded the Royal Box. The Imperial Russian BaKet from the Opera House .of Petersburg and Moscow have been engaged for the season at Covert Garden. These ballets have their own place «n the' programme apart from tihe operate'-work to be produced. The Gala Performance at. Covent Garden, which the King and Queen will attend Jn..<State r i will take place on Monday; June. Sβ • and on ithe following day there will W a gala performance at His Majesty's Theatre.
