RAILWAY SERVANTS.
c SUGGESTED AFFILIATION WITH LABOUR BODIES. fßy Telegraph.—rress Association.) MASTERTON, this day. The Masterton branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants" has resolved that the conference meeting in Wellington in February next be asked- to consider the advisability of taking a ballot of the whole society on the question of affiliating with the Trades and Labour Council or the Federation of Labour. The resolution is due to the fact that the Department some years ago gave a promise that if the society would refrain from affiliating with any outside body, the Government would not recognise any other body of railway servants. It is alleged that that promise has been broken by the recognition of the Enginedrivers', Firemen's, and Cleaners' Association.
