MINE FATALITY.
• SHIFT BOSS KILLED IN THE GRAND JUNCTION. (By TelegrßDh.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Andrew Anderson, a shift boss in the Grand Junction mine, was killed in the mine this morning. Deceased was a married man. Anderson was killed in the stopes on the Royal lode, near the Waihi Company's boundary, by a \fall of about three tons of quartz, which came away suddenly from the roof. Deceased was going liis rounds at the time, and no one witnessed the accident. The men working in the face further along noticing the air supply cut off, went to investigate, and found Anderson buried. The fall of quartz had jammed the air hose, cutting off the supply, and bringing tbe men shortly to the scene, but too late to save the unfortunate victim of the accident.
