LATE RACING.

ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. A HORSE KILLED. The weather was again fine for training operations at EUerslie this morning, and the work, ou the whole, was of an mteresiing character. Both the sand and grass tracks were in favour, the -foyner being a bit on the slow side, but the grass was very fast. The work was as follows: — THE SAND. Geo Absolom, as usual, was the early bird, Santa Kosa and Waimanpi running a round in 1.50 1-5, the pair finishing on terms, neither being ridden out. Kopu cantered a round, and then galloped seven furlongs in 1.36 -t-3. the Cup favourite moving lazily throughout. Kakama and Tamainupo were content to keep with Muskewai over sis furlongs, which they covered in 1.21 i-o. Tattoo was restricted to medium pace work. A tour-furlong sprint was the tasks apportioned Sir Artegal and Peggy Pryde, which they covered in 52 1 4-ss, Mistime beating Roslyu over a furlong less in 38s, while Poictlers (alone) took 53e to run the "i;*: mile. After breakfast Hamadryad spurted four furlongs In 52 3-ss. Swagsman and Romp ran a round in 2.10 2-5, and a number of others also worked. TUJ3 GRASS. The first to use the grass were Iney, Solve, and Goodwin Sands, which were companions in a six-furlong gallop, which was traversed in 1.17 the two former finishing together ha If-a-dozen lengths in front of Goodwin Sands. The Cup candidate Paisano had Coromandel as a mate over seven furlongs, run In 1.30, both moving well, Paisano in particular galloping attractively.. A similar dietance was traversed by Antoinette and Duma, which had the assistance of Minstrel over the last four furlongs, in L 29 1-5, the last half-mile taking 51 l-ss. Minstrel finished in front of the other pair, which were together. Monoplaue and Lady Patricia were associated in a gallop of nearly a mile and ahalf, the last round occupying 1.57 2-5, the former pleasing most. There was nothing between Maxwell, Master Theory, and Goldfinder at the end of a mile, covered in 1.40, the trio moving nicely. Epsom Lass, Advocate, and Dunborve were galloped In company over seven furlongs run in 1.30, the former finishing just ip front of Advocate, with Dunborve beaten off. Strathrose had the best of Vivace in a flve-furlong sprint run in 1.8 1-5, Silverryte and Worcester, from a standing start, running a furlong less in 51s, the former pleasing most. Sea Elf did useful work. Kuratau alone spurted four furlongs in 50 4-ss, Admiral Soult and Maykoff running on a furlong further in 1.4 4-5, the same distance taking Columbia and Lucille US 2-5, the former finishing in front. Bogey ran a fact four furlongs in 49 2-ss, Frontino, Lord Menschikoff, and the Freedom gelding finishing in that order over the same distance, which took a second longer. Black Northern galloped a mile and threefurlongs, with the assistance of Scotch over the last round, which took 1.54 3-5, Scotch finishing in front. Manapouri, with the assistance of Toa Tchi over the last cix furlongs, galloped seven furlongs in 1.30 1-5, the latter being of very little use to the Cup horse, which finished strongly. Waiotahl nlone ran a similar journey, taking 1-35, aud Caednion spurted three furlongs in 3Ss. Continuance, "Royal tDay, and Freevato jumped off together for a schooling galloi over five hurdles.
