AUCKLAND'S WONDERLAND.
PROPOSED. CARNIVAL AND FETE. (With the enterprise characteristic of the management of this resort a carnival and fete, which it is promised will. eclipse all previous efforts in this direction, is being arranged for next Monday week (Decemiber 19th). A list of cash prizes of the value of £50 is being offered- to the winners of the various competitions, in wliich. tooth skaters and non-skaters are equally catered for. Perhaps the greatest interest will be evoked in the comipetition for a prize of £5 offered to the lady who carries on the ground the largest bouquet, which it seems safe to assume will provoke spirited efforts. Many other equally valuable prizes are offered for the best fancy and comic costumes, worn on and off tlie rink, and valuable rewards will be given to the winners of the various skating competitions. Real amusement should be evoked in the tent-pegging, tiltiing-in-the-rink, wbeei-ibaTrow, blindman's -biiff, and other items of an exceptionally interesting programme. The Wonderland grounds so lend themselves to carnivals of this description that with the added charm of thousands of yards of floral decorations, novel coloured lighting effects, and the hundreds of fancy costumes which are expected to ibe worn, the scene should be one to Ibe long remembered. Every tedy attending will be presented with a velvet domino mask. Special music will be provided for the evening, and every thing done to make the night a memorable one in tha annals of Auckland's galas.
