TERRITORIAL CAMP.

The territorial camp at Worth's Paddock (consisting of No. 3 0.R.V., Waihi Ul9e3 and Defence Cadets) has proved a g'.'eac success during the week. The officer commanding the district (Lieut.-Colonel Wolfe) was in camp this evening, when Inspection parade was held, after which officers of the No. 3 O.R.V. went, through their practical examinations. On Wednesday evening a sham fight was held lv the vicinity of Black Hill. The defenders of the enmp were under the command of Major Kenricx, assisted by Sergt.-Major MacDonnell. Captain Gardiner nnd Lieutenant Jones were in charge of the firing line, Captain ltollinson and Lieutenant Walker in command of supports. Captain Edwards and Lieutenant Steele (.cadets) in charge of reserves, and Lieutenant Clarke in charge "f.™ attackers—a detachment of the Rifles. The defenders consisted of No. •> .OR.V., a portion of the Walhi Rifles,''ana cadets. A fifteen-pound gun had been fixed in position on the camp kopje, covering tlie fire of the defenders. The attackers succeeded in capturing the outposts' posi .wu. but by 7.30 Major Kenrlck had retaken UN position, and repelled the enemy. ™?* taking of the position was principally j™ to a smart flanking movement by the cadets under Captain Edwards. .
