NORTHERN MEMBERS PLEASED.

(By Teltgnpo.— PtrUamcntary Reporter.;

WELLINGTON, this day.

Northern members generally are well pleased witiv this year's North Island rjrHway and road votes. Northern railway* tfck year receive £455,000, ac compared to £287,500 Vast year. One of the most fortunate electorates is that of the Bay of Iμ member (Mr. Vernon Reed), interviewed this morning, pointed out that he had received £120,000 for railway* in hie district this year, compared to £42,500 last year. Tbe present allocation is £65,000 for the completion of the line between Towai and K&wakawa, £40,000 for the extension to Hokianga, and £15,000 for the Kaihu line.

The vote for the liasi Coast line, £110,000, Mr. McDonald regards as entirely mtarfactory. £80,000 on the Gisborne end and £20,000 between Tauranga and Te Puke is as modi as he thinks can be epent in the time, and with the preliminary vote for Giaborne and Napier line he entirety approves. Messrs. Mander and StaUworthy both are extremely pleaeed with the vote of £100,000 for the North Auckland line.

Mr. Greenslade is pleased with the allocations for his district, and more particularly with the vote of £20,000 for tihe Huntly-Awaroa bridge and railway. The mesDtfber for Waikato regrets that a vote was not placed on 'the Estimates for the Ngarua-wakta bridge, but expects to ccc that provided for next year. WABn DISAPPOINTED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ■WAIHI, this day. Great disappointment is felt in Waihi, in that nothing is mentioned in the Public Workß Statement regarding commencement orf work at the Waihi end of the East Coast Tail-way, though the Tepuke-'Paengaroa Section is referred to. notwithstanding that the im porta nee of the Wajhi-Taaraa|£i 'branch has been re-
