NOTICE TO CORRESPONDENTS.
QUERY. —Tonr letter would probably give rise to a futile religious controversy.
THE VICTOEIA CROSS. <To the Editor.* Sir,—Re the much-coveted Victoria Cross, not many people are aware that there are two holders of the Victoria Cross residing in New Zealand who have had that honourable reward bestowed upon them for a gallant deed whilst under fire. Their names, an authority informs mc, are Lieutenant Hardham, Petone Navals, now resident of Wellington, and Major J. McNab, who is a resident of Auckland, and has been for some considerable time. Being an active as well as an interested party in the organisation and progress of the King's Veteran Guards, I would like to suggest to that body that an attractive, as well as a most interesting item to their programme would be an address by Major J. McNab, entitled "How I won the V.C." It would be the means of drawing a bumper house, and that is what we require, as the object of 'the concert is to raise funds to enable the corps to procure uniforms.—l am, etc, J. CHRISTIE, Late King's Colonials.
