(By Telesraph.—Own Correspondent.} H.UNTLY, this day. A four-roomed cottage, owned and used by Miss S. M. and Mr. W. J. Ralph as a country residence at Awaroa, four miles from Huntly, was burned to the ground this morning. Mt. W. J. Ralph and Mr. J. B. Harris left the bouse on Monday morning, about nine o'clock, leaving everything apparently safe. The first intimation that anything was wrong was received by Mr. D. Capper, an employee of Mr. Ralph's, from a Maori who happened to be passing. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the loss, which includes a valuable plan of the whole estate, several guns, etc., will amount to over £300. The property is uninsured. On Thursday last some person set fire to tbe scrub on Mr. Ralph's property, burning flax to the value of fifty pounds.
