GARDEN FETE.
A garden fete and sale of work in aid of the Society for the Health of Women and Children is to be held to-morrow after-1 noon- at .the residence at Mr.. 3. W. James, j "Hilfo-t," Mt. Albert. The Pluniet nurses are doing splendid work in Auckland, and every effort to assist this movement ia deserving of public support, but apart from; this, the very attractive progra_ime prepared should ensure a large attendance at the fete. There will be. _ number of well-: stocked stalls for. the sale of work, flor_l .marches, under the direction of Mrs. Heap, and decorated prams and go-carts, etc., ex hihited by children. The ladies' committee,! of which Mrs. E. J. Harvey is hon. secretary, has been exceedingly busy, and, inJ addition to providing a large variety of attr_ctlo_s for the fete, have sold 700 tickets. The Bavarian Band will be in _ttleriflance. ■Buses will leave K_lgsland for "the fete from 2 p.m. onwards duriilg the afteruoon.
