FREE MEALS TO CHILDREN.

LONDON, July 21. In the House of Commons last night Mr. James Parker (Labour member for Halifax) introduced a bill to authorise the provision of free meals to school children during vacations.

A cable published last Saturday stated: —"A majority on the London County Council defeated the Progressive party's proposal to give free meals to school children during holidays."
