TRAINMEN ON STRIKE.

NEW YORK, July 19. The conductors, brakemen, and switchmen on the Central Vermont railroad, and the trainmen and conductors on the Grand Trunk, west of Detroit, struck last evening, and all work is at a standstill except on a few trains, which have been allowed to proceed to their destlnations. The Central Vermont hands struck in sympathy with the Grand Trunk. There are a thousand strikers westward of Detroit. An early settlement is expected.
