EPSOM CLtJB'S AaS'NTJAI* MEETING. The. fourth annual meeting of the Epsom Bowling club was. heid in the club-liouse last night, tlio president (Mr. B. A. Cruig) occupying the chair. Between thirty ana forty members were present* Tlie unuuui report sxated that the season just closed had been in every sense a moat satisfactory one, and the green had been asknowledged by bowlers as second to none in Auckland. At the 'Easter tournament. of the A.P.B.A. the Epsom, green was selected as one for tho playing of the pennant mutch, and from the praise given it the committee's confidence was not misplaced in ottering the gree-u to the Association. Mr. Wattlua worthily upheld the honour of the club in the ohuuiplon of champions match, and he had hard luck in not bringing the coveted honour to Epsom, being only boaten in tho linal. lv was neceasury in, the early part of the season to appoint a caretaker in place of Mr. Clifford (resigned), and the choice of Mr. \V. Sinclair from among the applicants nail been well justified by the manner in which ho kept the green and surroundings, under the supervision of the green superintendent (Mr. Watkins). The club had paid its way, and was now free of debt as regards working expenses, although there still reuiaiiu:d the mortgage, bank overdraft, and debentures, amounts as before. ' During the .season a. visit was made to the green of eight veteran bowlere, whose aggregate years totalled 637 years, and the visit afforded great pleasure to the club members, Tlio committee took tUo opportunity of thanking members for the support accorded them in their endeavours for the advancement of the clod, and to help in making- the various functions successful. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The presentation of trophies won during the past season was as follows:—President's fours, Brook, ]•). young, Foublster, Priestley (skip); champion, G. Watkins; pairs, Broos and \t. Smith, rnnners : up Clark and Walton; Wednesday trophy Eagletou, runnerup Walton; first-year plnyers, P. Bolton; Watklus trophy, W. Smith; non-winner's trophy, F. Boltou; Stewart Dawson shield, X>. E. Walton. In the course of the evening the president, ou behalf of the members, presented Mr. J. Wright, the energetic secretary, with an easy chair, as a mark of apprecla--tlon of his services towards the .advaacenient of the qlub. Among other matters, it was decided to ■abolish, tho system of sole selection, and to establish a committee of three for tho pur. pose. It was also decided to l'e-handicap first-year players at tlie mid-seasou, if necessary. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mt. J. It Rendell; senior vice-president, Mr. K. P. Clark; junior vlcepL'esldent, Mr. W. T. Smith; hon. secretary, Mr. J. Wright (re-elected); hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Foublster; committee, Messrs. A. Smith (re-elected), A. W, Jones, and Dr. Palrman; auditor, Mr. S. Hountree; match committee, Messrs. Eagleton, Watkins, and J. Wright; green superintendent, Mr. v. Watkins; delegates to the A.P.8.A., Messrs. E. A. CraJg and J. Priestley; match representative, Mr. E. A. Craig. It was proposed by Mr. Foubister and seconded by Mr. W. 'Smith that the club affiliate to tlje Northern Bowling Association.—Carried.
It was also, decided that the match committee should elect one official team torepresent the club at the A.1.8.A. and the jN'.li.A. tournaments.
Four playing and three honorary members were elected. It was decided to hold a euchre tournament in the course of about throe weoks.
The meeting closed with votes of thanks to the retiring president and officers.
