Bailey, jnn., will lay the keel of a new steam lighter to the order of the New Zealand Shipping Co., for the Tokomaru Bay frozen meat trade. The new vessel will be built en somewhat similar lines to the Kiritona, also built by Mr Bailey, but will be a little larger. The engines and boiler are to be supplied by Messrs Fraser and Sons. The vessel Is to be delivered on December 20th next. Mr Bailey is also building a 40ft launch for the' New Zeuland Shipping Company, who have placed the order so as to provide for connection with the East Coast steamers calling at Tokomam and the- shore. The launch will have two 10 h.p. Standard engines, supplied by J. J. Craig, Ltd.
