SOUTH AFRICA'S ACTION. ABANDONMENT OF THE SCHEME. LONDON, July 8. The decision of the South African Cricket Association with reference to the proposed Australian tour has caused great disappointment and regret in high •ricket circles. Cricket authorities cannot understand the question of the guarantee preventing the tour, and consider the decision meana the abandonment of the triangular matches, and also the Imperial Cricket Conference, which was eagerly anticipated. It is declared that. if the triangular scheme fails th& question arises whether South Africa could claim to' come to England in 1911. The Marylebone Club will have to consider this point when the full particulars are received. Leading cricketers declare that it will be an infinite pity if the tour to Australia is abandoned, and hope that South Africa will give the matter further consideration.
