Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council, held on the 2nd day of June, 1910, the following Resolution -was passed, and will 'be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of Che Council, to be held on the 30th day of June, 1910, at 7.15 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Birkenhead:— RESOLUTION: In exercise of the powers conferred on It by Part XLIL, of "Thp Municipal Corporations Act, 100S," the Birkenhead Borough. Council hereby by way of Special Order, revokes absolutely as from the coming into force of the By-la-ws to be submitted theretor, the whole of the By-laws heretofore from time to time made by it, and snbstitutes therefor By-laws under "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," and "Ih.e Public Health Act, ISOS." The object and pnrport of the' ■to be so substituted is as follows:— (a) The good rule and government of the Borough. (b) Conserving public health, safety, and convenience, and preventing and Qbatlnjr nuisances. (c) Regulating and controlling exceptional and heavy traffic on streets, and prescribing payments in respect of such traffic. ((I) Concerning streets and the nse thereof, and the construction of anything upon, over, or Tinrirf»r- a street. (c) Concornißg the construction and. repair of buildings. (f) Regulating drainage and sanitation. (g) Regolattng and licensing the keeping in the Borough of any animals or birds, the keeping of which is like to become a nuisance or injurious to health (h) Regulating or prohibiting the erection of buildings not having a frontage to a public or private street, and preventing the over-crowding of ixnd with buildings. (i) Defining licensing and controlling billiard and bagatelle rooms, bowling and skittle alleys, and shooting galleries. (j) Regulating the licensing of buildings used for public meetings, and the like, and the maintenance and use of the same. (k) Regulating and coirtroUins the nse at vehicles plying, used or kept for hire, and the licensing thereof, and of the drivers thereof, and the fares and charges in connection therewith. (I) Regulating any of the smblect mat-ters-of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1905." RESOLUTION. That for the purpose of providing the Interest and other charges on a Loan of £1500 authorised to be raieed by the Mount Eden Borough Council, under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1905," for the following (1) The sum of £1000 with which to construct and establish Public Swimming Baths in Bellevue-road, in the Borough of Mount Eden, adjacent to the Public School. (2) The sum of £500 with -which to purchase a central site in the Borough for the erection thereon, in the future, of Municipal Buildings, The said Mount Eden Borough Council hereby makes and levies a Special Rate o° one farthing in the £ upon the ratable valne of all ratable properties within the' Borongh of Mount Eden, and that such Special Bate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable in one instalment on such day of each year that is appointed by the Council for the payment of the General Bate struck for the particular year. •ALBERT ROBINS, : -Town -Clerk.
