MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
■ MjssourJ Mines.— in the south end or the Bed Mercury- reef has been going .on- to ascertain* the- values, of the reef going lip, as. the block is. totact- to the. surface a distance of about 250 ft. The reef is a •nice compact body tit ore, in a: torn clas" of andesite country, and is improving -by dish, and mortar test. Assay, results of samples forwarded to the ofßce are as. follows-— No. 1 sample, taken lSOft north of the. present rise, at which point the reef measures lit in width;, the first 3ft 6in from toe hanglnswall giving values of £3 12/11 •per ton. No. 2 sample, taken the remainder of the distance, 3ft 6in, to the footwall, £3 1/4 per ton. Samples taken full width of reef in rise, value £2 7/8 per ton. Mountain King-.—ln the intermediate level north the leading stope has been carried .along- a distance of 20ft. The" reef is encased in a nice mild class of andesJe.e, interlaced with .numerous mineral seams. The reef in the present face is 6in to width, and-showed- strong colours: of gold when takeu down.
