At the Police Court to-day John Archibald McKay, who had been manager of the Bluff branch of the New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Company, was remanded on a charge of having forged the name of S. Cooper on the wages sheet of the company. Detective Cameron said there would likely be two more charges, one of forgery and . the other of theft. NEW ZEALAND'S EXTORTS. : WELINGTON, Tuesday. Sydney Harrison, a lad of 18 years, who shot himself last I evening, a fellow-boarder, named Spriggs. Stated that deceased had frequently talked about shooting himself, and ' witness had. hidden his rifle. A verdict was returned of suicide while tem- | porarily insane. Spriggs was censured for not having told of deceased's threat to kill himself.
