Wolgaet. ' . • '• ■■-. • Both men met with. a'great'reception, especially the holder. : Despite the lin-. favourable weather, 37,000 attended, and thousands -turned'out • at- all • points and made progress to the arena -difficult; -■' . Owing , to" a misunderstanding, Nelson failed to appear till half an hour -after the announced time. The fight was refGreed by Eddie Smith, and the 'hatting was 2 to 1 against Nelson up to the fourth xoundj when ' Wolgast> A led -in points. The fifth was' Nelson's, and ia fcne'six-th both -seemed tired. Nelson iiad the best of the seventh,-eighth; and ninth and continued ta' , leadin.the tenth. For the next two rounds Wolgast still maintained his advantage, leading Nelson, who was badly bunged up. The thirty-third and thirty-fourth were Wolgast's rounds, and in the thirty-fifth Nelson was lifted off his feet. W-olgast had a big margin in the thirtysixth round, which he kept in the two succeeding rounds. Nelson hobbled to his corner in the thirty-ninth, and Wolgast won tiy the referee stopping the fight in the fortieth round. . ~._ ...
