Monowai.—Fonr men have been started to put In a crosscut 100 ft north of No 4 winze, where a large body of quartz exists and looks well Rising Sun.—The contractors have driven «j*t during the week, making a total of oS2ft. There is a great change for the better, the country being easy working! New Sylvia.—ln the north end of the mine at low level the reef does not show the usual width of payable ore, but the hangIngwall portion continues to yield ore of jvayablp vnhie, and this class of ore is making stronger again, and is heavily charged with zinc blend- and pyrites. About aft Gin of the reef Is being saved, the balance being at present composed of silica and white quartz of lower grade. In No. 2 rise a strong body of good ore Is maintained with some of tihe assays of very high valne This rise is now getting well on towards the upper level, and will no doulrt carry a stromr lode tho whole distance. Tairua Monarch.—No. 3 reef In the south face Is sft In width.
