£16,369,280 FOR MEAT.

(From Our Special Correspondent.) LONDON, January 7. During the last year 420,060 tons of meat, about one-fourth of the total consumption of England and Wales, came into the London Central Markets, Smithfield. The total shows an increase of 2.5 per cent, as compared with 1908. An expert estimates the value of the meat at £16.369.280. The following table shows the sources of supply:— 1909. Inc. or dec.
