THE BEAUFORT SMASH
(Received 10.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. It is reported that the department has suspended, pending the official inquiry, a locomotive foreman and fitter at one of the stations on the Stawell line. The Trades Hall carried a resolution viewing with alarm the increasing number of railway accidents, and condemning the poikrr of the Railway Commissioners, whose desire to show a profit was leading to the undennanning of the service.
