The last election return but one was completed to-day, with the following result:— EDINBURGH AND ST. ANDREW'S UNIVERSITLES. — Finlay (Unionist) 5205 — Simpson (Liberal) 2693 Last election: Sir J. B. Tuke (U.), 4893; J. S. Strachey (I.), 2310. There is now only one return to come— Orkney and Shetlands Islands —and that is not expected to be completed until Monday next. WILL NOT INTERFERE. AUSTRALIANS AND THE LORDS. (Received 5.5 a.m.) LONDON, February 10. Mr. in reply to the "Daily Mail's" inquiry for his opinion upon Mr. Norton Griffiths' proposal in reference to the reform of the House of Lords, says he prefers not to criticise a scheme so vague. Mr. Andrew Fisher, Labour leader, cabled: "I think any attempt to drag the Dominions into a constitutional dispute beween the House of Commons and the Lords is unstatesmanlike and mischievous."
