CAUGHT AT LAST. STIFF SENTENCES. (Received 5.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 31. Eleven Sicilians, who were connected •ritii the "Society of the Banana," have been sentenced at Toledo, Ohio, to terms jzanng irom. two to sixteen years upon charges of conspiring to use the United States mails for the purpose of extorting money from Italians residing in Ohio and Indiana. This is the first successful prosecution that has been sustained against the dreaded "Black Hand" organisation. -, jane last, at a place called Manson, . The sion was regarded as the local headquarters of the Black Hand. Luna and his fellow countrymen who met there called themselves the "Society of the Banana."
