CABLE BREVITIES.
The Earl of Jersey has had a slight attack of cerebral hemorrhage, and has cancelled all engagements for a few weeks. The N.S.VV. Institute of Journalists has decided to take steps to affiliate the other Australian and New Zealand Institutes. The widow of George Speyer, a banker, of Frankfort, has left half a million sterling for charities, education, and science, including a large sum for the study of cancer. .
