TIVOLI THEATRE. On account of the great success which has attended the performances of the All Star Company at the Tivoli Theatre this week, the management has decided to extend the season, and on Monday night a complete change of turns will be presented, in addition to a change in the picture part of the programme-. Full houses have been the order all this week. THE JULIUS KNIGHT SEASON. Monday week will see the reappearance of Mr Julius Knight. Miss Beatrice Day, and J. C. Williamson's dramatics organisation at His Majesty's Theatre. The Julius Knight season is limited to eleven nights, during which will be staged six plays. The initial attraction is announced as "The Breed of the Treshams," a powerful romantic play that has been for I the past two j|ears the vogue in London. The success achieved by this play in Australia has been, it is said, somewhat remarkable, and something especially interesting may be expected in its first presentation in Auckland. The drama, dealing with the romantic period of English history when Cavalier and Roundhead fought for supremacy, runs through four vigorous acts. In the matter of quality it is confidently asserted that of all the varied and excellent things Mr Julius Knight has done in Australia, his "Reresby" ("The Rat") in "The Breed of the Treshams" is the best. Owing to the enj forced limitation of the season, rapid } changes will be adopted. Following ; "The Breed of the Treshams," which will i be staged for the first three nights only, • " Monsieur Beaucaire" will hold the j boards for one night, being sue- i ceeded by the "curiosity" play of the i hour, "An Englishman's Home,' , for three j nights, the eleven nights' season terminatwith two nights each of "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "A Royal Divorce." The company numbers over 70 people, and carries a grand operatic chorus and ballet. The box plans for the first seven nights will be opened at Wildman and Arey's on Wednesday next.
