In the report of the meeting of unemployed, which appeared in the last issue of the ■ Star," Mr. T. Long, who presided, was made to Bay that the forecasts-of distress during the winter made to the Prime Minister by an Auckland deputation some months ago, " happily " proved correct. Obviously this was a slip. Nobody can have doubted for a moment that what Mr. Long said was that the forecasts had "unhappily" proved correct.
