By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HEMINGWAY'S BURGLARIES. WELLINGTON, this day. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, Jas. Hemingway was brought up on a number of charges of burglary. His brother John, who was arrested in Sydney, was charged with having been connected with two of the burglaries. James pleaded guilty to all the charges, and stated he had given some of the stolen articles to his brother, who was not aware that they were the proceeds of burglaries. The Magistrate discharged John Hemingway, and committed his brother to the Supreme Court for sentence. SLIPPED ON - ICE. ASHBURTON, this day. William Rilcock sustained a fractured leg through being thrown from a horse, which slipped on the ice on the road in the borough this morning. THEFTS FROM A CHURCH. WELLINGTON, this day. At the Magistrate's Court Michael ! Brennan pleaded guilty to breaking and entering St. Mark's vicarage and church, and stealing money and jewellery. He was committed for sentence. IN THE RIVER. GISBORNE, this day. The Borough Council's newly-installed locomotive crane ran off the rails into the river, a-nd considerable expense will be entailed in reinstating it. GISBORNE'S EXPORTS. GISBORNE, this day. Gisborne's exports for the year ended June 30th reached over a million Stirling. j Wool increased from 39,000 t046,000 bales; ; sheep from 252,000 to 378,000 carcases; lamb from 10(3,000 to 190,000 carcases, and J beef froia. 29,000 to 43,000 quarters.
