CONCILIATION COUNCIL.

BUILDERS LABOURERS' DISPUTE

AGREEMENT KOT RATIFIED.

A meeting of the Conciliation Council was held this morning at the rooms of the Commissioner (Mr T. Harle Giles), who presided over the Council.

The dispute was between the Auckland Builders and Contractors' Assbciation and others and the Auckland General Labourers' Union. At a conference held some little time ago, all the matters in dispute were amicably settled by delegates appointed by both parties. To-day, however, the assessors on behalf of the employers refused to ratify the agreement entered into by their delegates in regard to the question of wages, and the dispute will accordingly now pass on to the Arbitration Court. The assessors on behalf of the employers were Messrs Joseph Miller, A. Grandison, and Geo. Fraser, those for the employees being Messrs Oliver Mason, J. R. Legge and E. Corbett.
