AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S WINTER MEETING.

The Auckland Racing Club's winter meet- 1 X ing was concluded at Ellerslie this afternoon. The weather was fine, and the attendance good. The hurdle at the six furlong post extinguished Potikl's chance, and as they ascended the hill the last time Red McGregor was the leader, his nearest attenrlant being Bachelor, with Boxer next. Red McGregor still had an advantage as they raced for thp wall Into the straight, but oncp over Bachelor earns with a strong run. and catching Red McGregor as they camp to the last fence, drew out in the run to the post, and won easily by two lengths. Boxer was 100 yards sway, third, with Rouseabout another hundred yards away last, these being the only ones to finish. Time, S 40. Bachelor was \ favourite. Walker's b g Te Kaimii, aged, 10.3 (McGregor) 3 Also started: Mozart 10.7, Wairaka 9.7, Armagh 9.7. Armagh was first to move, followed by Te Kainui. and then came Te Aral, Wnl-! raka. Mozart, and Tanglefoot. When the! double was reached, Te Kainui aud Armagh were together in front, the rest of the field | being at their heels, with the exception of< Mozart, which was last. At the old water, I where Armagh ran wide and lost his position. Tanglefoot had a slight advantage of Te Kainni. but going along the back, Te Aral rushed to the front, and as they climbed the hill had a couple of lengths' advantage of Te Kainui, which had Tanglefoot on his quarters, the race already lying amongst the trio. Coming down the hiil : Tanglefoot ran past Te Kainui, and set sail after Te Aral, and as they came to the last hurdle looked like making a race of It, but Te Aral easily shook him off. winning comfortably at the finish by two lengths.
