FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION.
i FIXTURES FOR THE WEEK. The proceedings in connection With the annual conference and demonstration of fire brigades commence in Auckland on Sunday, when a grand church parade of 700 firemen, headed by the Garrison and Newton Bands, .will be Held. The procession leaves Hopetoun-stfeet at 10.30 a.m., and will proceed to St. Matthew's Church via Hobson-street. ■ •' '■ On Monday and Tuesday the conference of delegates will be held, the proceedings being conducted in Wesley Hall; PittstreeV. . - r - A programme of various contests and competitions Will provide an interesting' entertainment at the Domain cricket ground on Wednesday". On the same afternoon exhibitions of turning out to an' alarm will be given by the City Brigade—. tile first at 2 p.m., and another at 3 p.m. Oil the following day a picnic, tendered to the visiting firemen, Will be held at Motutapu. Competitions are to be held on the Friday and also on Saturday, the programme for the last-named day including a rescue race and an exhibition by the Auckland Brigade at 2 p.m. and again" at 3 p.m. Races of KKryds and 220 yds for amateurs will also take place.
