DOCUMENTS UNEARTHED. (Received 8.30 a.m.) CALCUTTA, December 15. Documents of the utmost value have i been unearthed at Dacca and in other c districts with relation to the conspiracy. 1
Calcutta advices, November 20, show signs of serious unrest in India. Much activity is being displayed among the police and garrisons. Special arrangements are engaging the attention of the authorities to ensure quiet during the visit of the Viceroy and Government. Police motor cycles accompany the Viceroy, and the police are augmented by Gordon Highlanders, who replace the ordinary police at Government House. Speaking at Lucknow, the Viceroy said that India was faced with a conspiracy which, if not suppressed, must cripple the future of the country. A poisonous seed had been sown, and grown into a noxious weed, which must be dug and cast out. The British Government was determined to shut the door in the face of ruinous anarchy, and for special difficulties would not hesitate to engage special weapons.
