THE QUEENSLAND DISSOLUTION
GOVERNOR'S ACTION APPROVED. (Received 8.8 a.m.) LONDON, December 15. Colonel Seely, Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, states that he has heard nothing regarding dissatisfaction at the Governor of Queensland's action in granting a dissolution. It was not unfair to surmise that a newspaper paragraph expressing dissatisfaction was tbe result of the confusion of the political and party issues involved, with the Governor's constitutional position. STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER. BRISBANE, December 15. In the Legislative Assembly, answering a question whether the Governor had received a reply from Lord. Crewe (Secretary of State for the Colonies), to the resohztion passed last session, dealing with the Governor's action in granting a dissolution, Mr. Kidston said the House had made no representations to the Home authorities on the subject. The Governor had forwarded the resolution to Lord Crewe, and had received a confidential reply. The fact that the Governor was not recalled indicated that the Home authorities approved of his conduct.
