PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
HOW THE VOTES WERE CAST. TArrs MAJORITY 1,208,990. (Received 8.8 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 14. The "New York Times" states that at the ballots for the electors for the various States the voting was as follows:— W. H. Taft 7,659,680 W. J. Bryan 6,450,690 Majority for Taft 1,208,990 The election results were still being revised when the last mail left. Twentyeight States were then officially reported to have voted 301 electoral delegates for Mr Taft, while 16 States contributed 156 delegates for Mr Bryan. Missouri and Maryland, with 26 delegates, were finally added to Mr Taft, thereby bringing the Republican total of the electoral vote for the President to 327, a majority in the Electoral College of 171.
