TAKAPUSTA JOCKEY CLUB'S SPRING MEETING. Tbe opening day's racing in connection vsith the Takapuna Jockey Club's Spring Meeting will take place on the club's course to-morrow (Saturday). The gatherings at the Shore are usually ol an interesting character, and with the splendid acceptances received, the one under review promises to be no exception to the rule. The first race is timed to start at 12.45 p.m., and a special ferry service will be run to convey visitors across the water. The South Canterbury Jockey Club's spring meeting was concluded to-day, the weather being again fine, and the attendance large. The following are the results of the racing:— November Handicap.—Cute, S.o, 1; Linda, 9.4, 2; Vagrance, 7.2, 3. All started. Cute won easily. Members' Handicap.—Silkweb, 9.1, 1; Volodia, 9.0. 2; Cerise and Blue, 8.5, 3. All started. Silkweb won easily. Jockey Club Handicap.—Field Gun, 5.2, 1; Czar Kolohol, 8.11, 2; Rose Noble, 8.11, 3. All started. Field Gun won by a head. Sapling Stakes.—Caspian. 8.12. lj Cymbiform, 5.6, 2; Bontade, 0.5, 3. Also started: Aisy. Caspian won easily. Stewards' Welter Handicap.—Tikitere, 8.3, 1; Ard Reigh, 9.5, 2; Goiden Cairn, 9.0, 3. Scratched: Outlander. Tikitere won comfortably. Seadowii Trot.—Merry Prince, 255, 1; Arcida. 20s, 2; Nellie H-, 12e, 3. All started Hack Handicap.—% r oloßda. 5.12, 1; British Peer, 7.10. 2; Fanny Free, 5.7, 3. Scratched: Love Wisely.
