RAGLAN.
(T!y TelegraplL— Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the Raglan and Kawhia A. and P. Association was held on Saturday alteruoou last, the president, Mr ISunkart occupying the chair. The following were also present: Messrs A. L. I'egler U A La Trohe, F. E. Trolove, vice-presidents: and Messrs E. <). WalllK, 11. A Wnllis. E. 11. Schuackenhurg, A. (iilmour, K. E. Dnucher W. J. Smith, F. 11. Green. H. McCarthy N. King, H. T. Gibson, \Y. Vernon. S. 11, Dnndo, Dr. Sanders, members: and the secretary, Mr F. Breeden. Great interest was lakeu In the proceedings, the lists showing 29 new members, making a total membership of 157, and it is anticipated thnt the membership will be further In. creased. The society is in a sound financial position, nnd It Is more than probable that the schedules of prizes will he further increased. The president In his address reported that the dog trials hold at Kauroa last October were a huge success. It was decided to hold future trials under the auspices of the association. After lengthy discussion, considerable alterations were made to the schedule for the forthcomlu" show.
On Saturday night last the frieuds and supporters of Mr Edmonds (who was member on the Kaglan Council for this portion of the district up t,, last election) entertained him at a dinner, Mr 11. M. Baukart councillor for Te Mixta, occupying the chair. Mr Bankart presented Mr Edmonds with a handsome pair of field glasses, and spoke In felicitous terms of the good work done by Mr Edmonds while representative for the Whangaroa Riding. A musical programme added to the Interest of the evening.
