MYSTERIOUS FLYING MACHINE
CONSIGNED TO CAPE TOWN
The German-Australian liner Varzin arrived at Cape Town from Antwerp on Tuesday with the first flying machine which has been landed in Africa. Great excitement wa.s created when a huge crate, measuring about sft by sft x 20ft, was hoisted on the quay. In hig letters was inscribed "Aeroplane—with care." Naturally there was much 'curiosity.
Through the lathes of the crate some idea of the aeroplane can be formed. It is constructed on the lines of those we have become familiar with through the illustrated papers. There are two wheels under the body of the car. aid the structure is made up of light wings of steel and silk.
The machine is' consigned to Order, Cape Town. The agents of tLe line profess ignorance on the mattei. All the information they can give is that the flying machine is consigned in their care, to order, and the owner has net, yet presented the manifest for delivery. Meantime, there is considerable speculation as to its ultimate destination.
