COUNTY COUNCILS.
OH2XEMURI (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, Wednesday. The statutory meeting of the Ohincmuri County Council was held at noon to-day, there being present Messrs. Crosby.. Laughlin, Nathan (Paeroa), Franklin, Lloyd, Marrinan (Karangahake), Corbett. Grace (Waitekauri), Strange (Waitoa). The chair was taken by the county clerk, and the ballot was taken for the chairman, Mr. Grace receiving 5 votes and Mr. Corbett 2 votes. Neither candidates voted. Mr. Grace returned thanks for his election. Messrs. Corbett and Marrinan were appointed trustees of the Thames hospital, and Messrs. Franklin, Laughlin, Strange and Lloyd were elected on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. At a special meeting held afterwards, Messrs. White and Law were instructed to proceed with asphalting the footpaths in Paeroa and Karangahake. COROMANDEL. .Mr A. R. H. Swindley was elected chairman of the Coromandcl County Council to-day. OFOTIKX The triennial county election resulted as follows: Waioeka Riding: J. B. Gow 130, A. Wilson 103, J. H. Reid 86, R. T. Jeffery 7U, J. M. Butler 09. For the Ohiwa Riding the result was as follows: F. Graham 15, A. Withy 15. The returning officer cast lots, and Mr Withy was declared elected. THAMES. The annual meeting of the Thames County Council was held yesterday. Mr R. W. Bagnall was unanimously re-elect-ed chairman. Messrs Kilgour, Cooper, and BakeT \wre appointed the Couneil'3 representative on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, and the chairman and Mr Clark were appointed hospital trustees. The following tenders for road works were accepted; Omahu- w hangatnata, T. H. O'Brien, £89; Ottmui track, W. J. McCormiok, £56 0/; Hapo Creek road, J. W. Rlckit, £04 If; Karnka Creek road, Hancock and Boyle, £90 15/4; Moonataiari Creek road, D. Donnelly.. £30,
