ißy Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright) LONDON, November 25. Two hundred and fifty peers met yesterday at the house of the Marquis of Lansdowne (Leader of the Opposition in the House of Lords), and overwhelmingly resolved to reject the Licensing Bill today.
■ The grounds of their opposition to the measure are that it does not materially advance the cause of temperance, and because it violates every principle of equity in its dealings with the numerous classes whose interests it would affect.
