The acoustic properties of the Chamber of Commerce have always been a difficulty when meetings' have been held there. A report has been submitted by Messrs Bamford and Pierce, architects, stating that the curved and centred ceilings, the non-sound absorbent quality of the walls, were the cause of the trouble, also that a gallery would to some extent obviate the first and the only remedy, and for the second it would be well to try covering the wall with thick soft pager.
