CROWN LANDS BOARD.

The Crown Land Board meeting was held this morning, when Commissioner John Strauehon was in the chair, and Messrs. A. U. Harris, W. W. Armstrong, and Jas. Troutisoii were present. Aliens on the Gnmfields. —Ranger McKay reported at the request of the I3oard on the kauri gum reserves, situated in the Opiiawuanga district, especially wltn regard to aliens squatting niui working thereon. lie reported that no aliens were at work upon the reserves. Timber Sales.— tlwas decided to submit for sale by public tender the kauri timber on part of Biocks XIII. and XIV., Waoku S.D. It was decided to grant Messrs. T. XI. I>ane and Sons six months , extension or time to remove timber purchased by them ou section 118, parish of Kohumaru, on payment of a ground rental of £2 IS/G. It was further decided to submit for sale by public tender thn milling timber on the foilowlng sections: Section 73. Block VII., Whang-ape S.D.; section 2, Block X., Whaugape S.D.: sections 3, Block X., Wiangape S.D.; section 2, Block VIII., Whangape S.D.; part Block XI., Whltianga, Starvation Creek; section 21 (reserve;, Block XII., •Mansakahla S.D. Application Declined.—lt was decided to refuse the application of Mr H. E. Mever to 30 acres in Block IV., Aroba S.D., under MDLO. pending a settlement of the question of subdivision and opening of the whole of the vacant Crown laud in the locality. Lands for Selection.—lt was decided to throw open for selection the following lands: Under part 111. of the Land ActSection. 2, Block X., Punakitere S.D., 418 acres; section IK), Whangajnarino Ph., 77 acres 2 roods, at 12/ C; S.W. portion 03, Ruarangi Ph., !M acres, at 20/. Under renewable lease—Section 7, Block IV., Raugaroa V.S., 1 acre ;>2 poles, at £40; section 4, Block 111., Rjingaroa, 2 ac.r«s 2 roods 22 perches, at iiW). By auctioa—Section 5, township of Tokatoka.
