BAHAMAS DEVASTATED. LONDON, (September 24. A hurricane has devastated the Baha mas (West Indies), wrecking many vessels and destroying many houses. Most of the plantations have been destroyed, and great distress prevails. i TYPHOON IN PHILIPPINES. I I GREAT LOSS OF LIFE. i Received 5.53 a.m.) MANILA, September 24. A typhoon swept the Philippine Islands yesterday. Great loss of life and property is reported from Samar, Seyte, Luzon, Panay, . M-sbate. and Bomblon islands. 1 No details have yet reached Manila.
