RACING NEWS.

At Ellerslie on Saturday some interesting schooling work was got through. In the morning Mark Time jumped lour hurdles ingood style. Darkness and Revolver were sent together for a round of the sehooliug hurdles, the latter falling at the second fence, Darkness continuing alone and jumping well. Anna Lombard did a round of the hurdles, fencing well. Creusot, alone, was schooled over the big fences in the centre of the course, but the son of Torpedo showed that he still retains his bad habits by running off at the second fence of the double. In the afternoon Crispess, The Abbott. Regent, Cornus, and Tiriinona were associated over a round of the steeplechase course, going over the hill. The pace set by Crispess (which was ridden by a professional rider, Towers, while the others had ani.i----teui-s up) got the field in difficulties very early. Tirimona was the first to misbehave, stopping at the sod wall, and again at the double, bumping his rider off. Regent fell at the first fence on the top of the hill, and Comus at the stonewall into the straight, the only two to complete the course in safety being Crispess and The Abbott, the latter of which was very tired at the finish. Tirimona was afterwards taken over the sodwall double and stonewall, jumping well. AUSTRALIAN RACING. V.A.T.C. MEETING. AUSTRALIAN HURDLE RACE. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.)
