His Royal Highness srid he was R lad t o welcome the representatives from the furthest limits of the Empire, warmly thanking the United Stales and France for sending representatives, whose presence was an outward and visible sign of their friendship for Great Britain. Grey (Governor-General o f Canada) read congratulatory telegrams from the Governor-General of Australia and the G-overnor of New Zealand. Mr. Fairbanks (Vice-President of the ' Lmted States) in an eloquent oration expressed the fervent hope and belief that ! the relations between the United States I and Canada and GTeat Britain would : never again he disturbed.
